DIY Chalk Paint

I really want to make more of summer than I have in the past so I've been on the lookout for fun summer stuff to do with my kids. I found a fun, easy, and cheap way to make chalkboard paint
from here

This is how you do it:

corn starch
food coloring

- I mixed the water and corn starch together (I wanted to do 6 colors so I used a muffin tin) 2:1 ratio of water to starch
- Add food coloring  (it will dry much lighter than it looks in liquid form)
- Let your kids paint!

I just did this today, but from what I read this will wash away just the same as sidewalk chalk even though you are using food coloring. Also, when you first paint and it's still wet it doesn't look all that great, but wait until it dries - it looks just as bright and cool as sidewalk chalk! My kids loved this - I hope yours will too!
